Sefton Park Named as a Great Place to Live in the North West Region

The Sunday Times has named Sefton Park one of the best places to live in the North West.

The newspaper’s Best Places to Live guide includes seven top locations in the region, among which the area surrounding the South Liverpool park is featured.

Alongside Sefton Park, other North West locations named include Stockport in Greater Manchester, Christleton near Chester, Kendal in Cumbria, Knutsford in Cheshire, Prestwich in Greater Manchester, and Ribble Valley in Lancashire.

Judges from The Sunday Times visited all the locations, evaluating factors such as schools, transport, broadband speeds, culture, access to green spaces, and the health and quality of the high street.

The Sunday Times said the following about Sefton Park: “Choose one of the leafy streets around one of the loveliest urban parks in the country, and you can guarantee that you’re in the best place to enjoy a city that’s definitely going places. As well as the park, you’re in pole position to enjoy the food, drink and boho atmosphere of Lark Lane, and the transport connections to both the city centre and the airport are impeccable.”

      Baltic-Triangle

What Other Accolades Has the Liverpool Region Received in Recent Times?

The Baltic Triangle, just a ten-minute drive from Sefton Park, consistently earns recognition as one of the trendiest places to live. It’s easy to understand why, considering all that the area offers.

In 2023, Time Out released its sixth annual list of trending areas worldwide, featuring the coolest neighbourhoods across the globe. Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle ranked highest in the UK, at number 11, followed by Leith in Edinburgh at 16, West End in Glasgow at 20, and King’s Cross in London at 24.

The Baltic Triangle boasts excellent bars, restaurants, vibrant street art, and performance spaces, making it attractive to both locals and tourists. Once a hinterland, it has transformed into one of the city’s key regeneration zones, with impressive residential buildings – such as the upcoming Heaps Mill and Central Park projects – that appeal to a diverse range of tenants. Moreover, the area has drawn many businesses seeking to establish themselves in Liverpool, particularly given the city’s status as the fastest-growing economy in the UK.

Why Should You Consider a Property Investment in Liverpool?

The Sefton Park and Baltic Triangle areas are not the only reasons why investors may want to consider Liverpool when looking for the best places to invest in property.

A recent Shawbrook Bank study shows that most landlords believe city centre apartments will be a lucrative UK property investment opportunity in 2024, owing to more people returning to office work and wanting to live closer to their jobs.

Alongside this, Zoopla named  Liverpool one of the UK’s top places for rental yields. This is due to the good-value average property prices (£174,603 on average according to the Land Registry’s UK House Price Index) and tenants willing to pay the rental figures associated with city centre living. According to Zoopla, the average Liverpool rental yield is 7.43%, while the national average yield is 5.49%.
